Lauren Samuels in We Will Rock You

Lauren Samuels has landed the role of Scaramouche in We Will Rock You, London.

That’s a top female part in one of the West End’s most popular shows, one which has been running for about ten years at the Dominion Theatre, Tottenham Court Road.

Well done Lauren!

So when does Lauren Samuels take over the part? Well, the exact dates haven’t been made public yet but Lauren herself has sad that her rehearsals begin in September 2011 with her opening night in We Will Rock You due for October 2011. Assuming she has at least a six month contract, this would see Lauren Samuels as Scaramouche right over Christmas 2011 and into March 2012.

Scaramouche is the female lead character and Galileo’s love interest. In the finale she shows talent playing the electric guitar, and Galileo declares that she is a reincarnation of Brian May, only this time “he’s a babe”. The character’s name is a reference to the lyrics in the Queen song “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
